Frequently Asked Questions
Do I really need to hire a public adjuster?
Absolutely 100% and without a doubt - The answer is YES.
Too often, insurance companies will low-ball their customers, using a variety of tactics all aimed at getting their policyholders to settle claims for a fraction of what is actually owed. I have spent over a decade of my life working for the large insurance carriers - Allstate Geico, Progressive, Homesite just to name a few. I have personally witnessed an unfathomable amount of policyholders get ripped off by their insurance companies. After years of struggling with the moral dilemmas that come with serving these big corporations, I made the conscious decision to serve you, the people. I make it a point to get you every cent that is owed by the insurance company.
Should I wait until after my insurance company looks at my loss to see if I need help?
We highly recommend that you take advantage of our free consultation as soon as possible after suffering damages. Having representation on your claim from day one will greatly expedite the process. It is much more difficult to overturn a denied claim and the process of doing so can take a considerable amount of time. We can properly present the burden of proof to the insurance company to ensure that they do not deny your claim in error and that you are awarded all the benefits your policy entitles you.
How long do I have to file a claim?
Most policies require you to file a claim within one year after suffering a loss. We recommend filing your claim as soon as possible as it is your responsibility under your policy to preserve and protect your property from further damages and report damages as soon as they are discovered.
Do I have to work with a specific contractor to complete my repairs?
We will work with the contractor of your choice to help restore you to pre-loss condition. If you need a referral to a certain type of provider, our network is extensive and we can usually help point you in the right direction.
Is the depreciation on my claim recoverable?
Most Homeowner and Commercial policies provide for recovery of depreciation while many Dwelling or Landlord policies do not. Bronson Claims Consultants can review your specific policy to make sure.
What if additional damages are discovered after my loss is initially settled?
Most states require Insurance Carriers to allow for supplement to an existing claim for up to two years. We can help re-open claims that have been “closed” by the insurance company.
